Kat – Wild side of 50

The Wild Side of 50’s goal is to encourage the adventure loving part of you to try new trails or ideas that may challenge your inner self. The inspiration has come from the old idea that you can do it! Living life as an adventure has brought many lessons learned through success and failure in attempts to hike, back-pack and the like just being active. I am an avid hiker who hikes in a tribe or solo. My passion originates outdoors through hiking, back packing, running, horse-back riding or biking but it can manifest in multi-media art from photography to sculpture or cooking and baking while fueling my body to a better hike, bike or adventure with healthy living.

As a Northern Californian transplant to Arizona the high country to the deserts have seduced me into loving them as much as the Sierra Nevada’s. I have hiked the John Muir Trail from Yosemite Valley to the top of Mt. Whitney, all 211 miles plus more. I’ve hiked the Grand Canyon and Havasupai Falls, explored many National parks in Utah and continue to find unbelievable beauty in Arizona through hiking and back packing seeking new locations to explore. I’ve expressed myself through art for the last 30 years while doing clay and warm glass while always learning something new. My hope is that you will enjoy the journey I take you on while writing helpful hints, providing encouragement to you and motivation to continue to find new trails and creative outlets to explore.
